Brighton to Big Mountain - 81 miles/7,500 feet

Today was a hill climbing day, lead by our mountain
goat, Mike Goat Glauser. He owns the mountains! One of the smaller Rocket Heads, but he will put you down. Brian & Scott started earlier to get a head start and BOY was it a GREAT day for riding the canyons. We saw two deer, LOTS of water, and some of the USA ski team.

We are sorry to inform you that another goose went down today, Scott Lloyd. He hasn't figured out what happened, but was 20 minutes into the MS 100 and had just taken his turn riding with the A Team and was retreating to get in the back of the pace line, and the next thing he remembers is riding in an ambulance. Slight concussion, road rash, banged up bike and they cut his biking clothes right off his body... OUCH!... :-( GET WELL SOON!

Everyone, please be careful! Falling is not a good thing for training and it HURTS LIKE, YOU KNOW WHAT!

Why Ride When You Can Get Hurt?

I hope all you fellow riders had a good week. It appears summer is finally here and we can put away the 5 layers.

For our President, Bruce Jensen, it was a week of relief from PAIN and a reminder that cycling can be a dangerous sport. SO, WHY DO WE DO IT? After visiting Bruce in the IMC Friday from his surgery to repair a subdural hematoma, which was caused by a fall he took back in April, I went home and loaded my bike on my car and headed to the Spring Chicken Inn, where I was assigned to volunteer for the annual Ragnar/Wasatch Back run, from 9:30pm - 2:00am. I thought it would be fun to ride to Henefer, against the runners, and feel of the excitement and get a little workout.

However, as I was riding across the east side of Echo, I was reminded why I LOVE TO RIDE... Being out with your friends and sometimes just a lone, enjoying the fresh air, smells of the roads, and best of all the beauties of nature.... MAKES IT WORTH IT!

Bruce, we are all praying for your speedy recovery and look forward to your joining the flock again soon.. LOVE YA MAN!

Peoa to Thousand Peaks Ranch 100

Today's ride came with a little apprehension, "Why do these guys always want to drive 20 -40 minutes to start a ride?" For those of you who didn't go, I trust today's post will answer that question, because it sure did for me. However, remember ONE THING, it's NOT HOW YOU START THE RIDE, BUT HOW YOU FINISH! :-)

Oh, how happy everyone is at the beginning of the ride!

Sometimes you just have to do what Dad tells you..... ride and shut up!

The NEW CHEVRON station, but where are the M&Ms?

Hey, NICE HOG, what year?

"These wimpy bike riders need to learn some manners, wiping your nose while I'm eating my sandwich, how insensitive can someone be?? I can't watch anymore...."

I'm so happy to finally shed my snowmobile outfit, how many layers, five?

A cool falcon.. ? protecting her nest of young chicks as we watched...

YES, I don't have to pull on the way down..... THANK YOU!
