Pack it IN, Pack it OUT

Just a few requests for all riders:
  • Always meet NEW people
  • Pack it IN, Pack it OUT
  • Try to dress NOT to embarrass (to cause confusion and shame to; make uncomfortably self-conscious; disconcert; abash) those you ride with

Annual July 24th - Let's Go To The Mountains

YES, it's that time of the year we all wait for.....A RIDE IN THE MOUNTAINS! To commemorate our great pioneer heritage, some of the PCRs headed to the actual trail this year that the pioneers used to get into the Salt Lake Valley. Big Man (aka SWOM), tested our knowledge about some of the the history of the early Saints. The Bishop and BB showed us who is KING and QUEEN of the mountain, and we were all treated to ride with one of the early mountain  men, Jim Bridger. MAN, that dude can ride a horse....

Variety Is The Spice Of Life

"Variety's the very spice of life, that gives it all it's flavour"

How true! We all need variety in our life and with that spirit in mind a few of the PCRs ventured out of the weekly Saturday ride and went to experience other vistas. As we all believe, the #1 rule of adventuresome riding is, DO IT with friends. Big Man and a group of fellow "Dew Sweepers" made their journey to Hobble Creek to enjoy a beautiful/spiritual day on the course.  (Some of the athletes need to work on their interview skills. Won't mention names, but Joe Rich hope you and Mr. MBA will sign-up for interviewing 101 this fall semester.)

A few of the challenges of being with the Dew Sweepers, which the Big Man had forgotten, is the 4:00 AM wake -up, BUT WELL WORTH IT, pick-up your favorite partner, Joey Wood, who lives in DayBreak and get to the course for a 6:15am tee time and still have time to place your bets. (Roddy, way to take advantage of the OLD guy)

Tow Truck Hawke, Dr. Smiles and gang took a ride on a little rockier trail than usual. They had an even earlier wake-up, 1:30am. WOW!  Tow Truck Hawke was good at talking to everyone and as you see below, we have a few new PCR followers.

3 Stage Wins

After watching a few stages of the Tour de France, this week's ride was met with great anticipation. BIG MAN came with high hopes of winning a couple of the stages, but as usual little man put him in his place. The ride took the PCRs to one of their favorites, the Peoa loop. litttle man said he would not give BIG MAN a win on the first stage due to a minor shortcut taken to get to the finish line first. REALLY???

As always, the ride was full of vistas, meeting new people and BEST of all, a HEAD DUNK!

PS - Just in , a quick note from our newest PCR, Mr. MBA........  Glad Prez Hale is ok, but it does make you smile!

"I ran into Hale today.  I was going up Millcreek and he was coming down.  He had broken his rear derailleur and was walking down the canyon.  No cell phone reception.  I wish I had a photo for you.  I should take a camera and do an interview on “how to store your bike tube in your bike pouch.”  It fell out and caused a great deal of damage.  Can you loan him some money for a zipper?"

#11 - Meet Everyone!

This week's riding, with temperatures in the 100s, took us to the mountains. In the spirit of Adventuresome Riding, #11 Meet Everyone, some of us did exactly that and as the pictures and videos indicate, left the ride with BIGGER smiles than when we started.

"Professor Glauser, and you thought riding your bike across the country was a challenge"

.....and to think these three actually used to work together, now that's a scary thought!

PS - Sexy Leggs recently participated in a local triathlon and emailed me the following, CONGRATS!

I won my age group and was 24th overall. There were only 2 of us 50 or older in the top 24. The other one was Mike Pigg who is a 4 time Escape from Alcatraz winner, is in the US Triathlon Hall of Fame, and a National Champion. He came in from Northern California to do an open water clinic for those interested and then he did the race. He’s 51 now and he came in 7th overall. He only beat me by about 15 minutes. I was happy about that. He swims like a fish!
