Dimple Dell Loop - Backwards

Today's ride was much better attended as the "bankers" in the group requested a later start, 8am. However, there were a few that still wanted MORE beauty sleep and were pulling for 9am. REALLY??? The ride started with a blowout in the basement of Dave Moesser before he even got the bike outside. "Man, I need glasses when I'm pumping my tires, 150 looked like 110 psi"  Once the tire was fixed, we started out of the hood on quick pace, which quickly caught up with Wood on the first climb. "Remember, it's not how FAST you start, but how many STAGES YOU WIN"

The backward loop was one that many had never done and when asked to stop at the Church at the top of the BIG UGLY hill for our TATS from 1st timer Chris Nelson, there were NO riders when Wood the last to arrive got their. "Man, I got a little taste of what it might be like when I get to heaven and NO ONE IS HOME.... :-(" Wood finally found his team and blamed stopping to take a few pictures for the blog for his 10 minute delay. As you will see and hear, the TATS just keep getting better. However, Chris did want to go on record and state that he did not recognize Wood as having ANY authority to assign the TATS, but did it anyway. After his rude comment, a vote was being called for to impeach Wood, but Wood was quick on his bike to filibuster and the vote never made it to road.

Chris left the team early to get home to a soccer game and another senior rider, who was running out of gas or last night's dinner was calling, snuck off to ride home. WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT??

A BIG thanks goes out to Dave & Rod (A Team Members) for joining the B Team today and increasing our overall speed by 0.5 mph. Also, the KING OF THE HILL goes out to Mr. Bruner, but I think he had Little Man pull him most of the way and BEST RECOVERY goes out to Little MAN...  WHOA!

... and I'll see YOU at the TOP

Pre-Conf Ride is a LITTLE CHILLY

PCRs, hope you're all enjoying a weekend of Conference, Family, and Warmth. The weather is changing and Saturday early morning rides are NOT as well attended and WARM as they have been. However, "remember when you see a biker at the top of the summit, he didn't fall there"  Keep riding even if it does get COLD. It will keep you YOUNG..... YIPPY SKIPPY!

Now we understand where Hale gets is LOVE for Song, Dance and Stories. It's in HIS BLOOD!

Pre-Game Ride

Today, Mr. Hale took us on a pre-game ride that was 2.5 hours, 32 miles of NO MESSING AROUND... 3,800 vertical feet and a lot of SMACK... The kittens were all smiles and feeling pretty good, but as we all now know, Hill should stick to his running game.... :-)

MAN, did we really ride through all this?

PCRs, the season of early morning/late evening training came to a crescendo last week as we participated in the 31st annual LOTOJA. For some it was a threepeat, and others the 13th time. (Val, you are a STUD) As you have read and seen, we have had a GREAT time preparing for this EPIC event. For me, the JOURNEY is ALWAYS the BEST. However, when we finally finished the 206 miles, 3 states, in 1 day, we REJOICED it was OVER.

As we drove home and had a chance to really see the scenery we rode through rather than the thin tire in front of us, there was one who kept saying, "MAN, did we really ride through all this? This is really a LONG WAY"

 LET THE GAMES BEGIN

HIGHs and LOWs of training for this day... and LOTS OF LAUGHS

 Happy B-Day, Captain....

After dinner the serious riders went to bed, but the PARTY ANIMALS hit the campus in search of more FUN & EXCITEMENT..... :-)

Hailee Bradford, who worked with Woody, is featured in a new mural in the athletic building

The Professor is a NIGHT OWL and is treated like ROYALTY

The "A" - where a kiss is more than just a kiss... here it is a rite of passage. The "A" was built in 1916 by a group of enterprising young men. It's purpose was to serve as the site of an initiation ritual wherein each young man had to kiss a willing young lady atop the "A" under a full moon at midnight.

This ritual spread across the entire campus and become known as the method by which one could attain True Aggiehood, and A LITTLE MORE ENERGY FOR THE RACE... :-)

The Draper Athleta, Power to the SHE, helped us all ride a little faster.... THANKS!
