Henefer & Back........

Saturday's ride started out with some of the A & B riders together. As an enthusiastic B rider, I was excited to see how good they really are. It took them until the ZOO to say, LATER! (Bro. Hale, thanks for staying with me and Bro. Briggs if you ever start riding earlier then scheduled again, you will be changing my flats for a long time... you sandbagger.... that's a golf term, which if you don't understand Hale can help you.... NOT!)

We are SOOO lucky to live where we do and be riding in such beautiful surrounding in just minutes. I don't know who's idea it was to ride to Henefer and back, but I can truly relate to the feelings of the early pioneers as described on the plaque below. "As they crested the ridge it was heart-wrenching to discover that the most difficult part of the ride still lay ahead and some broke down and wept......... who's crazy idea was it to ride BIG MTN both ways??"  (73 miles / 6,700 vertical)

The B riders saw a buck in velvet, doe and fawn, butterflies mating, and discussed how each met his wife and proposed to her and other beers at the bar. I hope you A riders did more then just race each other...... :-)

Pay Attention When You Ride!

Saturday's ride was 70 miles flat and one where we rode and visited with celebrities and vociferous characters. You never know who you will meet on the road, so pay attention and remember the experiment proved, the majority of people love to say........

 "GOOD MORNING!"

Riders etch their mark in the mountain

Hey, who house is this?  What a beautiful landscape......

It's fun to visit with FAMOUS people

We Found The Lake

Our first attempt in riding to Utah Lake earlier this year was unsuccessful. However, this morning was a true adventure. As you will see from the pics and video below, there was portage, academy award winning acting and once again, new sites, people, and a few hazards on the road. Our TATS was sponsored by Bro. Bruner and he lived up to the thought, "She Is One Tough Gal"

Portage is sometimes necessary to get to your final destination

"I SWEAR this was the road I was told to take"

 Looking for the DEW SWEEPERS

Once again, we run into signs we have never seen before.... OOPS!

A new trail for some of us... A MUST ride!

OUCH, that HURT!

Millcreek Morning Ride with Dr. J

Prior to July, early morning rides are a real treat up Millcreek Canyon. With the upper gate closed, the entire road is OURS. The temperatures are refreshing, the river is full and there is NO BETTER WAY to start a FRIDAY then listening to motivational TATS (Thought At The Summit) from Dr. J. "First Things First"

Dew Sweepers Join the Ride

Today was a first for the both the Parleys Canyon Riders and Dew Sweepers. As you will see from the pictures and videos below, one rider went on a different route today and enjoyed riding a sweet 82. However, another rider who said he was in good shape really was tested when he took a few detours and ended up going 85 and then there were two that took short cuts and only went 81. The healthiest rider went only 76, YOU BIG WIMP.... WHAT A GREAT MORNING!

This is a game of mental toughness and some lose their focus off the 1st tee...

Three great shots on par 3 #7.... who makes the birdie putt?

Joe shows the form needed to make the putt..... but does he?

This is why we leave for the course at 5:28am....... A THING of BEAUTY!

Memorial Day Century - Big Mtn > East Canyon > Morgan > Home

As you will see, today a few of us took off at 5:30am to ride 100 miles. In the end, only 3 went the whole 100 miles after going around Sugar House Park 3 times because we were short 5 miles when we got home. What a GREAT day, with GREAT friends!

1st Summit of the day, Little Mtn!

 Note the Loch Ness Monster

2nd Summit of the day, Big Mtn!

Who's Dumb idea was it to ride 100 miles..... MAN, I'M TIRED!

Rockwell / Suncrest Loop - 60 miles

Saturday's ride was a new route for the 3 of us and boy was it beautiful. We thought we might run into to a little  rain, but all we ran into was GREAT travel stories by Hale, Spiritual thoughts by Bro. Briggs and YES, new sites and characters by Woody. (He had to stop drivers only once to make sure we were going in the right direction)

Howdy Partner!
