Pedal Your Troubles Away
PCRs, I would like to share an article that Cory "Tow Truck" Hawke sent me today. Remember what Dr. J said about him as you read this....
Some of us pedal because we’re angry.
Some of us pedal because we’re happy, or at least we hope to be.
Some of us pedal because we don’t know what else to do.

A Special Evening - For Special Women
Riding on a cool fall afternoon up City Creek Canyon, amongst the beautiful colors of autumn, creates moments of brilliance. On this day, Steve Hale was inspired, as he often now is that he has found his spiritual side, to suggest an ALL male-prepared dinner/event for our SPECIAL WOMEN. After hours of thought and meditation, assignments were made and the results... YES, were EPIC!

WE ARE TRULY BLESSED
TO HAVE SUCH
GREAT WOMEN IN OUR LIVES
The women decided to separate themselves from the Help
and talk about the important things of life,
BLACK FRIDAY.......
.... where the Help did what they do best, EAT!
After the main course was served, we were treating to a TOAST/ROAST by Dr. J. The video clip below gives you a flavor of what GREAT TALENT rides with the PCRs.

"TO THE WOMEN"
After treating ourselves to a to-die-for dessert item, the PCRs put on a number that will go down in the history books. With the talent of a 25 year LOTOJA rider, Val "Liberace" Ludlow and a lot of HOT AIR, the Women were entertained to a Hollywood production of
"THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A DAME"
The evening came to a close as each of the PCRs gave a personal tribute to the woman in their life. Captain Briggs sent out strict instructions that we were to keep it to "one minute" and be "creative". He lead us off, which he very seldom did while riding this year, and broke the first rule. However, with his poem he set the bar WAY HIGH. Hale recited Shakespeare's Sonnet 116 (from memory) and Jensen also had a poem. The rest of us, tried to hang in and not get left behind the lead riders. THE PACE WAS FAST and thank goodness NO ONE CRASHED..... :-)
An
Ode by a Toad to the Most Beautiful Girl on the Road
by Kim Briggs
Always concerned about my
dress, so I don’t look like a total mess
I gave her quite a fright,
cause my first jersey was real tight
“You can’t go out like
that”, ‘cause you’re so big and fat
So I donned a giant “T”,
that went halfway to my knees
Now she never holds her
nose, when I’m wear’n skin tight clothes
She pretends to really care
with a smile, when I tell her about each mile after mile
If I accidentally wake her up
too early, she’s hardly ever very surly
And if I’s happen to
“crashes”, she say’s “hey…what’s up with the rashes”
She’s my first best gal at
LOTOJAY, she knows just what to do and say
She feeds my face in that
dang long race, and tells me to keep up the pace
Her ‘SAG Wagon’ skills are
second to none, even when my legs are done
She tell’s me I’m a
“wunderkind”, and makes me feel that I “ride like the wind”
I’m the luckiest guy ever
to ride, ‘cause I have my first best girl by my side
She’s so skinny and cute
and she still gives a hoot, ‘bout me and us and our family to
boot
So thanks for enduring my
woesome IQ, what I really want to say is “Vicki I love you”
She liked my Ode too little
I fear, but I still must ask “can I ride it next year?”
Shakespeare's Sonnet 116
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Ride To LIVE!
PCRs, there has been recent excitement/enthusiasm by one of our riders to "Eat To LIVE", but I'm here to tell you "Ride To LIVE", is more important. I quote from his new bible by Joel Fuhrman, MD "physcial activity is the strongest environmental determinant of total body and central abdominal fat mass."
So, RIDE STRONG, LIVE STRONG and after a good 50+ mile ride, treat yourself to a BIG BURGER with some FRIES..... :-)

Stay safe, healthy and on this side of the window!

Ride in RED
Saturday's ride was in RED, both in uniform and fall colors. I hope all you PCRs are enjoying this fall season as much as I am. Sometimes, it just makes you want to break out in SONG. All pictures are taken from the hood, can you guess where?
This is why we start our rides early...
Who's Door?
Who's Tree?
Who are these Guys?

Moab - 4th Annual Fall Ride
Well, what does one say after an event like this. Each Director was well prepared, which made for an EPIC RIDE. A BIG THANKS goes out to Hawke's Towing Services for taking good care of flats that occurred in the first 3 miles of our 46 miles ride and towing us back to the cars in record time. Special appointed Directors to keep Scott Wood under control were fired even before we got on the bikes. No one told them it also included driving....
Love My Men
The Vistas are just starting
How many PCRs does it take to change a flat?
Feeling STRONG!
I'm KING OF THE WORLD
Biking with your women, WOW... Does it get any better?
BROTHERS
It's NOT how FAST your RIDE, but HOW MUCH YOU TAKE IN that counts!
Fall Rides in Utah are the BEST!
As you will see below, this is why we live where we do. Where else can you physically ride 30-50 minutes from your home and see this kind of scenery, but in Salt Lake City, Utah?
PS - Watch my video clip first and then click on "Here Birdie, Birdie, Birdie" for a special treat. (Guess which one I am?)

Big Cottonwood Ride & Run
PCRs, autumn has arrived in this great state of Utah. This week was the 1st inaugural Big Cottonwood Marathon/Half Marathon and so a few of us took advantage of the closed canyon and left the valley early to ride to Brighton without ANY TRAFFIC.... IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!
WOW..... just one of the many great vistas
The sun was shining early on the UTE flag
Max, you have one block left ........ 3:26
Just think how much faster you could have run without the back pack.... :-)
